The everyday activities that many of us take for granted, such as bathing and dressing, may be too difficult for your elderly parent or disabled family member to complete in an efficient manner. Likewise, doing laundry, shopping, and cleaning may seem like overwhelming chores. Consequently, these important tasks may be neglected. Our Individual Services Program was designed to assist your loved one to maintain his or her dignity, health, and comfort by developing a customized care plan to ensure that basic needs are met confidentially and in the comfort of the home environment.
Bathing, Personal Hygiene, and Grooming Assistance in Welch, WV
Senior and disabled residents in Welch and throughout all of McDowell County, WV are encouraged to apply for the McDowell County Commission on Aging’s Individual Services Program. Although daily bathing is essential for good personal hygiene, bathrooms tend to be slippery, making this task difficult or dangerous for those with certain limitations to complete alone. Likewise, grooming of the hair and body is an important part of self-care that helps individuals feel confident and refreshed, yet may pose a challenge for those with physical limitations.
